The Word collects only the information necessary to operate the platform, support engagement features, and connect volunteers with community organizations.

Depending on how you use the App, you may provide:

Account Information:

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number (optional; used only for two-factor authentication and account security verification)
• Hashed password
• Optional profile image

User Content:

Posts, comments, photos, volunteer preferences, interactions with charities, messages (if applicable), and any details you choose to publish on your profile.

Organization Information:

If registering a nonprofit or business, you may provide your organization's name, description, contact details, public profile information, and optional photos or media.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

Device type, operating system, app version, performance data, crash logs, and basic usage analytics.

1.3 Location Data (Geo-Fencing Features)

Used only for location-based features. Not stored or shared.

1.4 Push Notifications

Sent only with your permission.

1.5 Global Leaderboards & Gamification Data

Points, tiers, badges, display name, and activity metrics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate the platform, connect volunteers, personalize features, support security (including 2FA), improve the app, and maintain leaderboards.

We do not sell your information.

3. Sharing Your Information

We never sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal data for marketing or advertising.

Information is shared only when required to run the app or by law.

3.1 Service Providers

Hosting, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications.

3.2 Public Content

Only what you intentionally publish (posts, photos, badges, etc.).

We use encrypted passwords, secure data storage, and industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

The Word is not intended for children under 13 years of age.

You have the ability to:

• Manage push notification preferences
• Edit or delete your data
• Delete your account

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy.

8. Third-Party Services

The App may integrate with third-party services including Apple iCloud, Firebase, APNs, and Core Location.

9. International Users

Data is processed in the United States.

Updates to this policy will be posted in the Apple App Store and Android Marketplace when updated.
